Cassie and I are obviously excited right now. There's a lot going on for us with the baby, me starting full-time work, my sister getting married, a new niece or nephew coming soon from another sibling, and so much else going on in both of our families. We feel really happy and blessed to have so many good things happening in our lives.
A lot of people ask us if we want a boy or a girl, and if we had the power to choose, then I guess we would choose, but all we really want is to have a healthy baby. Our hearts get heavy when we think of friends, family, and acquaintances that have had problems getting pregnant, who can't have a family, whose children don't survive or have disabilities. It is a heavy thing for us to think about what has happened in your life, and we want you to know we pray for you. We rejoice in your courage to try again and keep moving forward, and we pray that God will bless and comfort you as you build your families.
For me, I can't wait to be a father and I hope that things will come how you normally imagine: we'll have a baby, do our best, and generally have no idea what's going on and hope we aren't ruining the child. I will try to have the faith to accept whatever happens and remember that it is God's will. I am excited to get to know the baby that my wife carries. At the end of the day I'm filled with hope for what tomorrow may bring. Somehow knowing that I helped create the child growing inside Cassie fills me with hope and makes me want to be a man. We can't control our future, or even know what it will be, but we are excited about the possibilities as we try to look forward in faith.

I'm sure you guys will be good parents, just don't spoil the baby. If you guys need something to spend on, I'll be there by then. Oh and Cassie, I'm glad that you finally felt baby Cassie move.
