I have finally felt the baby move. It's pretty exciting. After questioning so many pregnant and experienced moms what the baby's first movement feels like I have finally felt it for myself.
The first experience happened (that I recognized) during the evening while I was visit teaching. I was 18 weeks along. As I sat there talking with the sister I visit and my companion, I felt a sudden movement in the lower part of my abdomen. I got really wide eyed. Unfortunately, it only lasted for 2 seconds; however I felt it as a little twitch type feeling. I was sure to be on the lookout for a similar sensation.
The next time I experienced it was while I was reclining back on a chair while chatting with David online. I felt it again. I stopped and the movement continued for a few seconds. I was very positive that it was the baby moving. I made sure to tell David what was going on. The movement I felt as I sat on my chair was definitely similar to the previous experience.
Ever since then I have felt the baby move a few more times. It doesn't happen every day or at least I don't catch it everyday but I have felt the movements a bit longer when they happen. I would personally describe these movements to feel like a quick vibration or spasm. You know, kind of like when your arm is twitching.
I was worried I would not feel the young fluttery movements of my baby and I would just start feeling the painful things. I'm glad I finally have felt the baby move. I have to admit that it makes me giggle. Not because it tickles but because it's amazing to think that those movements inside me are being made by a tiny human, my little Gummy Bear.
p.s. I'm planning to upload some boring belly pictures up just b/c everyone wants to see them. Don't hold your breath. I'm almost 20 weeks and I barely show a little gut. Like really little.
p.p.s. Maybe I could upload David's belly pictures for more excitement.
