Hi everyone. Its been a really long time since I've contributed to this blog (it's David). We're doing pretty well as we get started with the new semester. I'm really excited because I'll only have one semester more after this one. I try to remind myself of that every time my classes get annoying, and it works pretty well.
I started a new job this semester. I'm working with Cluster Resources. This is a Provo-based company that manages supercomputers, clusters and grids. It turns out they're pretty much the best in the world at what they do: they manage all of the fastest supercomputers and many of the largest clusters and grids in the world. They develop a product called Moab that handles all of the scheduling, software licenses, shared resource agreements, etc. I work on the development team for that product now. Its pretty cool. These are pictures of my workspace; my favorite parts are the large monitor and the dual core processor. I don't mind having my name on the cube either.
Anywho, we're getting used to the new schedule with me working off campus. It means I have to do a lot more of my homework at home, but its still good to work for a real company. Its definitely going to bring us a lot more opportunities, it beefs up the resume, its more fun, and it does pay a little better as well.
That's just a little bit of news about us. We hope you are all doing well and that you haven't given up on our blog yet. We're trying to get more consistent about posting.
