David and I arrived to Chicago in May. Our apartment didn't open until June which meant we had to stay with the family. David's parents were very kind to let us in and we are truly grateful for their hospitality during that time. David worked for Exelon in the Chase tower doing I.T. work. He really grew close to some co-workers and he actually had work to do, unlike last summer. David has done so well at work that his boss has already offered him a full-time position. We were excited with those news because it means that we know where we are going to be in three years--CHICAGO! We are excited with the ways things have been working out in our lives and we know its because of our Heavenly Father. We are truly blessed day to day. As for me....I applied to 20 retail jobs and none of them hired me. I was really desperate so I turned to my old Lindt Chocolate job. I met with my boss from the Orland Square Mall and he guaranteed me a job. I was hired to work downtown at the Water Tower Place. Things were okay. I made some extra money that we have saved and I was able to grow close to an old co-worker who I am really fond of. I quit about two weeks ago because of how unorganized that store was.
This summer we've been to Colorado, Nebraska, Michigan, and West Virgina. We visited my sister-in-law in Denver and my brother-in-law in Nebraska. David's cousin got married in June where we attended his ceremony and reception in Michigan. In mid-July we went on a road trip to a Karnes family reunion in West Virgina. All of these trips were wonderful. I really feel closer to my in-laws and I feel like I know them better too. Its been a busy summer but we still have a few days left. I'm glad we've spent it with our family because they're the ones that matter the most to us. My parents and my siblings haven't been vacationing. We've played some soccer and have done some grilling. Its been entertaining overall. We love our family a lot!!!!
David and I are really enjoying married life. We've had our ups and downs, but we've made it through. Leaving Chicago isn't easy for us but we feel happy to know that we have loving friends in Utah. David and I are really happy together and we can't wait to see what our future holds for us.

Hey, great to hear about the job offer! Hurrah, hurrah!
I love your pictures!
WoW!! It sounds like we've had similar travels this year. We drove through Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and ended up in West Virginia for a family reunion near Elkins, West Virginia. On our way back we drove through Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska and then swooped down to Denver and came back home to Utah. It was way fun and I love how GREEN it is out there.
Glad to hear things have worked out in your favor.
I totally don't get that picture!! You guys are so cute and I look forward to observing you both as you grow!!
