Two weeks in

We're now about two weeks into the school year. We saw the movie Dan in Real Life last weekend (there is a dollar theater out here). We both really liked it. We saw it on a double date with an old mission friend of mine and his wife. It was a good evening with good company. I really liked the movie; it was funny, clean, and it seemed real. It seems like in most movies, the main character has some sort of conflict, does a lot of terrible things, and then is redeemed (and instantly forgiven by his/her friends) because she or he does one good thing. I liked how this movie didn't have instant forgiveness, didn't have the main character forget about all their values (the worst thing he does is not go see something his daughter made immediately), and didn't have any of the standard redemption mumbo jumbo. I would definitely recommend that movie.
Cassie and I are playing on an intramural soccer team at school. It is a lot of fun so far. We had our first game yesterday. I am somewhat of a soccer freak as is my brother-in-law, who is on our team, and my wife enjoys playing but probably wouldn't be considered a soccer freak. The other team didn't have enough players, so they forfeit and then we gave them some of ours and we scrimmaged. It was a lot of fun. Playing soccer makes me high on endorphins.
The day ended up with Cassie and I just hanging out together that afternoon and evening. We got some things done but mostly just relaxed together. It was a wonderful day. Days like that definitely help me recharge for the week.
So far it looks to be a decent school year. I think we both have only one class each to complain about, and the rest are pretty good, so we're feeling optimistic about things.
