Patinar en hielo

This weekend we went ice skating. It was pretty fun. I took my very beautiful wife. We hadn't been ice skating together in a while, and it turns out that we both really enjoy it. We were on a double date with my friend Jose and his wife Gabi again, we have a really good time hanging out with them. We also ran into a lot of random people from the class that I TA, I guess stuff like that happens in a small town. Ever have a date where you go out and have fun together and then end it by really talking and communicating with each other? That's what my wife and I did after we dropped off the other couple. It was amazing. Its great to be in love. Neither of us are great skaters but we had a lot of fun. I guess its all just being together.

This weekend marked eight months since we got married. Its been the most wonderful eight months of my life. We celebrated by eating hot wings. We are married but we are still college students, and we really like hot wings. After that we saw the movie The Golden Compass. I don't think either of us recommend it. There was nothing in the movie that offended me because I'm religious, but my wife and I both agree it was entirely unoriginal. I think the plot and a lot about the movie are borrowed from other works. I'd give it a half or one star maybe.

Today, the Prophet of our Church passed away. His name is Gordon B. Hinckley (that makes us Mormons) and he was 97 years old. Whenever I talk about death with other members of the Church, I realize how differently we view death because of our beliefs about God's plan for us. One major difference is that we believe that if we marry by proper authority, we can be married for time and all eternity. My wife and I were with our cousin when we heard President Hinckley had died. All of us thought of how he missed his wife and now they could be together again. I feel that my Church's teachings make the difference in my life. My wife would say the same. I will miss hearing his counsel and seeing him at the front of the Church, but I am glad that he can now rest from his work here, and he certainly did a lot of it.
